Event Presentation Managing
At Track & Field competitions across the world, Event Presentation Managing is the finishing touch but at the same time an invaluable tool to make or break a meet. From music to images on the screen and leds; coordination with speakers; all on track and infield competitions as well as everything surrounding the competition; an EPM makes sure all the pieces of the puzzle fall together so the spectators in the stadium get the best possible event experience.
I started as an event coordinator at the Brussels Memorial Van Damme in 1999, following my uncle Ferdy’s footsteps. Since then, I have also managed Event Presentation at the Rabat Diamond League (2008-2010 | 2018-present) as well as at the Xiamen Diamond League in 2023. In 2019, I was invited by the organizing committee to start as the EPM at the Shanghai Diamond League.

With over 25 years of experience in the field, I feel highly qualified to help bring everything surrounding the competition to a good end. I help set up the EP desks at the stadium; I adapt, complete and check the competition continuity; I work together with the dj to find the best music for the specific occasion; I help brief the speakers and work closely together with them during the competition, I check all slides, video’s and sponsor messages and make sure they get the airplay they paid for. Last but not least, I make sure that, in coordination with TV presentations, every event of the evening gets the attention it deserves in the most professional way, so athletes, spectators as well as organizers are happy and satisfied with a fantastic competition.
To achieve all this, I work very closely together with everyone involved in the organization of the competition, as well as with all the members in my team. I try to make sure everyone knows their job and help them feel comfortable with and proud of the job they do.
